Hey, my name is Mary Jean.

I'm a Black, queer, neurodivergent woman using she/her pronouns. I'm a 29 year old photographer and creative in Seattle, Washington. Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, my love for breakfast tacos and southern culture runs deep. I'm a multi-hyphenate millennial dedicated to supporting my community. In the words of the talented Issa Rae, "I'm rooting for everyone Black." As a birthworker and reproductive justice advocate, and an emergency manager in disaster communications, my goal is to empower and educate my community through storytelling.

Ninety percent of time you can catch me taking photos, mostly of food (yes, I'm one of those). In my free time I enjoy traveling and exploring my new city. There's so much beauty in the PNW and I can't wait to capture more of these stunning views in future client sessions.

Creativity has always been a passion of mine. From music and dance to film and production. Now, I use my vision to help others tell their story. Each moment, each experience that I've been allowed to capture is part of another's journey that I'm extremely grateful to have shared. I hope that you enjoy them.

With gratitude,

MJ
